Another Unilateral decision

We think it is important to highlight the fashion in which the University Student Senate meeting was canceled:

For safety and security reasons, I have decided to cancel The New School's University Student Senate Forum scheduled for tonight, December 18 at 8:00 p.m.

Bob Kerrey
President

Best,
The New School in Exile

  1. Well, I did want to attend that session, but honestly, what is the administration supposed to do? It would be really tragic if someone got hurt, and things have already escalated at times as it is. This sucks because it seems like all this protest is doing is shutting down dialogue. Now the weight is all on you guys to hold out, and those of us on the outside can't do anything to help you. But maybe if you guys agreed to talk to Kerrey, you could at least get the ball rolling and know what demands he is willing to negotiate with and what things we would have to give up. I'm really not trying to diss what you are doing, but I would sincerely like things to end well for us, and I'd hate to see you locked in the building for days and then finally having to just give up for lack of supplies or because the police finally come and arrest you. Couldn't you at least meet with him???

  2. We support you all in the building ... Specially after reading about Keerey's and his lies around the Thanh Phong Massacre.

Its a sad story that a killer should even been able to come this far.

  3. yet according to a number of sources, including the nytimes article, you refused to speak with him at 11:30 and later on.

hypocrisy, and bunch of snotty brats. i agree or can at least understand some of your demands; your attitude and actions, however, are inexcusable.

  4. You can't negotiate with Kerry. He has gone too far.

    STRIKE. HOLD. STAY STRONG.

    KEEP DEMANDING HIS RESIGNATION.

DO NOT STOP WITH JUST THAT.

Your demands are just, and your cause is good. Your foes have a litany of evil to their names.

  5. Kate. I'm sure the 13 Vietnamese villagers Kerrey and his unit killed would have liked to negotiate as well. Oh. Too late dead. People may change, but that doesn't mean you have to talk to them.
